Paralives Paramaker guide (2026)
Short answer: Paramaker uses continuous sliders (not presets) to shape every part of a character's body, and lets you layer clothing over outfits. It is more flexible than The Sims 4 Create-a-Sim.
What Paramaker includes at Early Access launch
- Full-body shape sliders — Height, weight distribution, shoulder width, hip shape, and more. Sliders are continuous: drag anywhere between extremes.
- Head and face sliders — Nose shape, jaw width, eye spacing, brow height, and lip shape.
- Skin tone and pattern — Full color wheel for skin tone. Skin markings (freckles, vitiligo, birthmarks) available as overlays.
- Hair — Choose style, then color using the full color wheel. Highlights and roots can be set independently.
- Clothing layers — Clothing items are layered. You can wear a jacket over a shirt over a tank top, visible at different collar/hem transitions.
- Disability aides — Wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, and glasses are available as wearable items in Paramaker.
- Pronouns and name — Set independently of body and clothing choices.
Body sliders tip
The Paralives sliders are non-destructive. You can move any slider at any time without losing other settings. Use the Random button to get a starting point, then refine.
Saving and sharing characters
- Finish your character in Paramaker.
- Click "Save Household to Library" from the household screen.
- To share on Steam Workshop: from the Household Library, select the family → click "Upload to Steam Workshop."
- Add a title, description, and square cover image before uploading.
Inclusive features
Paralives was designed from the start with inclusive representation. Disability aides are in the same catalog as clothing — not a separate accessibility toggle. Body options are not locked to gender. Skin patterns and tones cover a wider range than most life sims.
What is not in Paramaker yet
Tattoo placement tools, custom mesh import (CC body shapes), and some hairstyle categories are planned but not confirmed for Early Access.
