How to install Paralives mods
Short answer: Paralives lists Steam Workshop and in-game modding tools for Early Access; use Workshop pages, read compatibility notes, and back up saves before testing mods.
Current mod guidance
The current roadmap data lists Steam Workshop integration and in-game modding tools as available at Early Access launch. Subscribe to community items through their original Workshop pages when possible, then check the in-game mod management screen before loading an important save.
Script mods are not listed as officially supported in the current roadmap data.
About script mods
Script mods are not officially supported at Early Access launch. The game does not block them, but the Paralives team is not actively supporting them until the pace of script-breaking updates slows down closer to 1.0.
Basic mods, custom content, lots, and households work through Steam Workshop. Treat script mods as experimental and keep a backup save before testing them.
How to upload your own content
Upload a lot
- Finish building, then zoom the camera out until lot options appear.
- Click "Save Lot in the Library" and give it a name.
- Go to the lot menu, choose "Place a Lot from the Library", and find your lot.
- Click "Upload to Steam Workshop", then add a title, description, and square 1:1 thumbnail.
- Click upload. Public visibility may depend on moderation.
Upload a household
- In Paramaker, click "Save Household to Library".
- In Household Library, select the family.
- Click "Edit Information" and "Set Cover Image".
- Click "Upload to Steam Workshop".
Upload a mod
- Main Menu, Mods, Create New Mod.
- Edit under "Edit this Mod" in the Control Panel.
- Examples include adjusting twin or triplet rates and modifying birthrates globally.
- Upload via Steam Workshop from the Mods menu.
Safer mod habits
Use trusted sources, read the creator's update notes, check whether the mod matches your game version, and keep a backup save. If a build starts crashing or objects disappear, disable recent mods first.
Managing mods safely
- Back up your save before enabling new mods.
- Disable a mod using the blue toggle instead of deleting it immediately.
- Look for the small cloud symbol in Build/Buy inventory to identify Workshop mod content.
- Check for updates automatically through Workshop subscriptions.
Avoid rehosting
Link to original mod pages when available. Do not copy creator files without permission.
